There are several different ways to ensure that your car will fulfill it’s full potential lifespan. This can be done by following these simple steps

1.) Change your oil on a regular basis
2.) Monitor all fluids on your vehicle
3.) Watch all gauges, especially while driving.
4.) Use gasoline specified for your automobile
5.) Drive gentle
6.) Drive regularly

Rule number one, monitoring your oil level is crucial. It allows you to keep your automobile out of the shops, and on the streets. If you do not regulate oil levels you may end up blowing the engine on your vehicle. It is recommended that you change your oil every 3K miles or 6 months.

Monitoring all fluids is simply a no-brainer. No fluids, means big problems. For example, if you do not have water your car will overheat. A car overheating is definitely not pleasant, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to find yourself in that situation. As you can see keeping your fluids maintained is a sure fire way to keep your car running strong.

When driving always stay alert and watch your gauges. If rule number one, or rule number 2 our to occur your gauges will alert you promptly. If you look at the picture to your left you can see it portrays your gauges functions. If the check engine light is on you will know. Additionally it notifies you of you running low on oil, or your car overheating.

Rule number four can be killer. If you have a diesel car and put regular gas in you can break the engine. Furthermore some higher end cars require premium oil, such as Mercedes and some BMW’s. Although it will cost more it is definitely worth your time to put the required oil in your vehicle.

Obviously you need to not drive recklessly doing so can result in many problems. One common issue is transmission problems. A phrase I like to go by is drive your car as if there is can egg below the pedal. Which essentially means do not stomp on the gas, or make sudden accelerations as this can certainly cause lasting problems.

Lastly do not let your car for long periods of time. Doing so can drain the battery, and cause other damage. For example, you may need to change spark plugs, or take your car in for a major tune-up.
